Back in December 2016, I visited the MAXXI Museum. Quite possibly my favourite building by the late Zaha.
Whilst I am merely an enthusiast in parametric architecture, what attracted me to MAXXI was the sweeping interior spaces and framed perspectives created at the ends of the form.
The vast foyer and iconic staircase welcomes you as you enter the building - enticing you to explore further; an experience in itself.
The corridor teases you as you walk along, giving you glimpses of the corner. The skylight and roof screens bends with space almost directing you to follow the path.
Bonus! An exhibition on Japanese architecture was being showcase from the works of Kisho Kurokawa, SANAA, & many more. Also, 40 years of Italian history photography exhibition by Letizia Battaglia.
