Performing Arts Hub

Expanding THE ARTS IN DANDENONG

Project Type        :     COMMERCIAL

Project Location :     DANDENONG, Victoria, Australia

Project Size          :     16145 sq. m

The Performing Arts Hub is a proposal to revitalize the city of Dandenong by further strengthening its Arts region; sitting at the corner of Mason and Walker Street and the South-Western corner of Oldham Lane, the building also act as a hub providing a unique opportunity to link the two street and laneway together.

The form was a result of the combination of multiple fragments from various cuts of different models attaching and subtracting from the original skeletal base model - the vast sizes of the fragments allowed opportunities for large expansive programs; such as theater, reverse podiums, and gathering halls. The setback circular facade creates an illusion of a continuous singular structure behind the skeletal balcony edge.
